Tap 1

Tap is an essential skill for all musical theatre performers. Develop fundamental technique, rhythm, flexibility, coordination, and style. Tap 1 covers: Falap (running and walking), Shuffle, Scuffle, Paradiddle, Cramp Rolls, Draw Backs, Falap Heel (across the floor), Falap Ball Change (across the floor), Falap Heel Heel (across the floor), Irish, Buffalo, Maxie Ford, Broadway/Ella/Shirley Temple, Toe Heel Turns, Military Time Steps, Single Time Steps (knowledge and beginning mechanics of Double and Triple), Confidence Traveling Forward and Backward, Understanding of Mechanics/Weight Shifts, Jump vs. Hop. Proficiency in these skills is required to move into the next level. This is a 14 week class, with breaks for holidays and school breaks.
